CAO reports alleged multi-million dollar soy fraud in Santa Cruz

The President of the Eastern Agricultural Chamber (CAO), Klaus Frerking, has denounced a major alleged fraud affecting more than 100 soy producers in northern Santa Cruz, Bolivia. The producers claim they delivered over 6,000 tons of soy to the company Silos Pilcomayo through an intermediary but have not received payment.

The economic impact is estimated to exceed 50 million bolivianos (approximately 7 million dollars). Producers reported that the company offered prices roughly 30 dollars higher than the market average to entice deliveries, but the promised funds never materialized.

Frerking has called on the Santa Cruz departmental prosecutor, Jimmy López, to investigate the matter, noting that previous attempts to pursue the case through criminal channels had been rejected. The CAO has pledged to monitor judicial proceedings to ensure justice for the affected farmers.
