Mi snaga naroda movement to boycott parliamentary elections
The political movement ‘Mi snaga naroda’ has announced it will not participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled for October 25. The decision was reached during a presidency session and has been communicated to the Republic Electoral Commission (RIK).
The movement is currently facing internal leadership disputes. Following a decision by the movement's Assembly to remove five presidency members—including Borislav Antonijević, Ratko Ristić, Branko Lukić, Slobodan Ilić, and Ana Ivanović—the ousted members held their own session. They asserted that the decision to boycott the elections was made by a majority of the presidency members.
Internal tensions were exacerbated by disagreements regarding potential pre-election coalitions, specifically involving Aleksandar Vulin’s Socialist Movement. Additionally, movement leader Branimir Nestorović, who was absent from the session due to health reasons, previously noted receiving requests from individuals in the Russian Federation to form a pro-Russian political bloc in Serbia.
