MI6 ranked as Europe's leading intelligence service

The British Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) has been ranked as the top intelligence agency in Europe, according to a report by L’Express. Based on an analysis of 60 experts from 25 countries, MI6 scored 251 points, significantly outperforming its closest rival, the French DGSE, which scored 169 points. Other agencies included in the ranking were the Dutch AIVD/MIVD (97 points), Ukraine (77 points), and Germany's BND (62 points).

This assessment comes amid shifting security concerns in Europe. U.S. intelligence agencies have issued warnings regarding potential Russian incursions or cyberattacks in Eastern Europe between this autumn and the end of the decade. Experts note that the conflict in Ukraine has demonstrated the continued necessity of traditional human intelligence in modern warfare. Former CIA official Ralph Goff noted that the United Kingdom is currently leading intelligence efforts regarding the Ukrainian conflict, with the United States following closely.
