Mexico wins multiple medals at World Junior Diving Championships
The Mexican delegation is performing strongly at the 2026 World Junior Diving Championships in Rijeka, Croatia. The team has accumulated eight medals so far, including two golds, four silvers, and two bronzes.
Twin sisters Mía and Lía Cueva secured a gold medal in the women's 3m synchronized springboard event with a score of 283.02. Mía also earned a gold medal in the individual 1m springboard, while Lía took silver in the 3m springboard and bronze in the 10m platform.
In the men's category, Ian Caleb Nava Gutiérrez earned a silver medal in the 3m springboard (Group B, ages 14-15) with 476.60 points. Suri Cueva, the eldest of the Cueva siblings, has also contributed to the tally with two silver medals in platform and mixed team events.
Mexico currently sits in third place in the overall medal standings, trailing behind Russia and China.
