Mia Emmenegger extends Team Esbjerg contract until 2030

Swiss handball star Mia Emmenegger has signed a contract extension with Team Esbjerg, committing to the club until the summer of 2030. The 21-year-old right winger joined the Danish side in January 2025 following the bankruptcy of Vipers Kristiansand.

Emmenegger has established herself as an international-class player, recording 273 goals in 58 matches for the Swiss national team. Her recent performances include a five-goal outing in a 38-22 victory over EH Aalborg. Following her first six months with the club, she was honored as the best young player of the season at the EHF Excellence Awards.

Regarding the extension, Emmenegger stated that staying in Esbjerg was not a question of whether, but how, due to the club's high sporting ambitions and positive human dimension.
