Mia Ghazali wins Muay Thai gold at SUKMA 2026

Mia Ghazali, a 15-year-old athlete from Sarawak, won the gold medal in the women's Muay Thai 42–45 kg category at the SUKMA Selangor 2026 games. The final match, held at KSL Esplanade Mall in Klang, saw her defeat Johor's Damia Husna Azian with a narrow score of 34–33.

Despite facing an opponent six years her senior, Ghazali maintained her composure in the final round to defend a one-point lead. She attributed her victory to two months of intensive technical training and the support of her coaches and family. Her win continues a family legacy in the sport of Muay Thai.
