Miša v Košiciach series expands from streaming to mainstream TV

The romantic comedy series ‘Miša v Košiciach’ is expanding its reach from the JOJ play streaming platform to mainstream television broadcasting. The series follows Miša Richterová, an ambitious Bratislava-based editor who is reassigned to a regional office in Košice following a professional failure.

Director Ján Novák and screenwriter Hana Lasicová noted that the production utilized Košice as a central setting, effectively turning the city into a film studio. A notable creative decision was the casting of lesser-known actors alongside established figures like former president Rudolf Schuster, with Novák emphasizing that lack of fame does not equate to a lack of talent.

The show explores themes of romance and social issues through the lens of a newcomer attempting to earn respect in a new environment, contrasting her life in the capital with the realities of life in the east.
