Miah Johnson eyes new offensive strategy for Nixa softball

Nixa senior infielder Miah Johnson is preparing for her final season following a record-breaking year. During her junior season, Johnson set a MSHSAA state record by hitting 25 home runs.

After hitting .563 as a junior and committing to Missouri State, Johnson intends to shift her offensive strategy for the 2026 season. Rather than focusing solely on power, she aims to support a strong lineup to drive runs and secure wins. Nixa, which finished the 2025 season with a 20-15 record, looks to return to the state tournament with Johnson and fellow all-state talent Jordan Phillips.
