Miami businessman allegedly brokered Flavio Bolsonaro escape to US
Fernando Martin Bogey, an Argentine businessman and pilot based in Miami, is reportedly acting as a broker for the flight that enabled Flavio Bolsonaro to flee Brazil for the United States. Following his electoral defeat to Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, Flavio Bolsonaro arrived in Florida on October 28 via a private aircraft accompanied by his family.
The flight reportedly departed from Puerto Iguazu, Argentina, using an aircraft from the company Baires Fly. According to Luis Grande, head of Baires Fly, a broker based in the US deposited 150,000 dollars into an Argentine bank account to facilitate the trip. While the identity of the broker was not officially confirmed by the company, sources suggest it is Bogey, who operates businesses in Miami including Emerald Aviation and Huracan USA.
The escape route allegedly involved transit through Argentina and Ecuador. This movement follows the cancellation of the passports of Jair Bolsonaro’s son, Zeia Bolsonaro, as part of an investigation into alleged money laundering. Argentina is currently investigating whether public resources were used to facilitate the departure, though Flavio Bolsonaro denies receiving government assistance.
