Miami-Dade couple attacked and pepper-sprayed in road-rage incident

A couple in northwest Miami-Dade, Felyz Rodriguez and Davin Lopez, reported being physically assaulted and pepper-sprayed by two women following a road-rage confrontation on Sunday.

The incident reportedly began when the couple briefly stepped off the sidewalk and into the street while walking to work. According to the victims, two women in a vehicle began shouting at them, calling them “idiots.” After Lopez made a hand gesture toward the car, the driver allegedly turned the vehicle around and sped back toward the couple.

Video footage captured during the encounter shows the escalation, including the sound of pepper spray being discharged and one of the women pulling Rodriguez by her hair. Rodriguez, a transgender woman, stated she attempted to de-escalate the situation despite being yanked toward the vehicle's open door and eventually thrown to the ground. A resident nearby also recorded the incident, notifying authorities that a driver was attempting to run over a man at a street corner.
