Two arrested for burglarizing home of couple killed in Kenya helicopter crash

Two individuals, Geybert Alexander Garcia, 40, and Melany Perdomo, 24, have been arrested for allegedly burglarizing the Coral Gables home of Henry Parra and Adam Hlavaty. The couple was among seven people killed in a helicopter crash in Samburu, Kenya, on August 19.

Authorities report the burglary occurred between August 20 and 22 and was discovered by the victims' housekeeper. The suspects allegedly stole luxury vehicles, including a 2023 Range Rover and a 2020 Porsche Taycan, as well as jewelry, electronics, business documents, and artwork, including a sculpture valued at over $500,000.

Detectives located the suspects and stolen property in Miami-Dade County after a business partner used tracking applications to locate a stolen MacBook Pro and the Range Rover. During the execution of a search warrant, police reported finding Garcia hiding in a closet and Perdomo in an upstairs bedroom. Both suspects face charges including burglary, vehicle theft, and grand larceny.
