Miami Dolphins prepare for preseason under new coach Jeff Hafley

The Miami Dolphins are entering the 2026 preseason under new head coach Jeff Hafley, who is implementing a new strategic approach. He also warned star running back De'Von Achane to prepare for a heavy workload, suggesting the offense may rely on him for as many as 40 to 45 touches in a single game.

In roster moves, the Dolphins acquired offensive lineman Caedan Wallace from the New England Patriots in an intra-division trade. In exchange for Wallace, the Dolphins receive a 2029 seventh-round pick, while the Patriots receive a 2028 sixth-round pick. The team's first unofficial depth chart also revealed several rookie placements, including Caleb Douglas listed as the primary wide receiver and Trey Moore as the starting inside linebacker.

The Dolphins are scheduled to participate in joint practices with the Washington Commanders ahead of their preseason opener this Friday.
