Miami Dolphins make multiple roster moves ahead of preseason conclusion

The Miami Dolphins have made several roster adjustments as the NFL preseason concludes. The team claimed rookie cornerback Jai’Onte’ McMillan off waivers from the Indianapolis Colts. McMillan, a former player for Minnesota and TCU, brings defensive and special teams experience to a secondary that has seen significant turnover, including the recent release of veteran Nick McCloud.

In addition to the defensive back addition, the Dolphins waived guard James Ester following an injury sustained during a joint practice with the New York Giants. To fill the roster spot, Miami signed rookie linebacker Stephen Dix Jr. Dix, an undrafted player from Arkansas, joins a linebacker corps that has dealt with various injuries and positional shifts during training camp.
