Miami Dolphins sign Zane Gonzalez to practice squad

The Miami Dolphins have signed veteran kicker Zane Gonzalez to their practice squad. This move follows the release of kicker Riley Patterson, who converted seven of nine field goal attempts and five of six extra points during the current season.

The roster changes aim to address struggles within the Dolphins' special teams unit. Coach Jeff Hafley previously noted a lack of execution in areas such as punting, extra points, and kickoff depth. Gonzalez, who was previously released via an injury settlement in August, brings significant experience to the team, having made 78 regular-season appearances in his career.

In addition to the kicking changes, the Dolphins waived cornerback Storm Duck and edge rusher Andre Jones Jr., while signing edge Rodney McGraw from the practice squad.
