Miami Gardens delivery driver shoots alleged robber dead

A delivery driver fatally shot an alleged armed robber in self-defense on Thursday afternoon in Miami Gardens, Florida. The incident occurred around 1:40 p.m. in the 20300 block of Northwest 34th Court.

The driver reported he was actively delivering food when he was targeted for robbery. During the encounter, the driver drew a firearm and shot one of the suspects. Although medical personnel attempted to save the individual, the suspect died at a hospital.

Police arrested 28-year-old Jabari Joshua Thomas, the second suspect involved in the incident. Thomas is being held without bond at the Broward County Sheriff’s Office Jail and faces charges of felony murder and armed robbery. The driver, who reportedly holds a concealed carry permit, has not been arrested or charged. Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots and seeing significant blood at the scene.
