Miami Heat acquire Giannis Antetokounmpo from Milwaukee Bucks in blockbuster trade

The Milwaukee Bucks traded Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis to the Miami Heat in exchange for Tyler Herro, Kel’el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kasparas Jakucionis, three first‑round picks, a pick swap and a second‑round pick. The Bucks, facing a contract year for Antetokounmpo and looking to restock draft capital after previous trades, view the deal as a step toward a rebuild, adding young talent and future assets. The Heat gain a former MVP to bolster a roster that already includes Bam Adebayo, though questions remain about roster fit and salary management.

Separately, the Heat signed undrafted guard Tre Donaldson to a two‑way contract. Donaldson, a former Miami (FL) Hurricanes player who averaged 16.4 points, 3.6 rebounds and 5.7 assists in his final college season and posted strong shooting percentages, joins the Heat’s roster with the expectation of further development, continuing the team’s recent success in cultivating undrafted talent.
