Miami Heat begin training camp with revamped roster

The Miami Heat have commenced training camp at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton following a significant offseason roster overhaul. The team is integrating high-profile additions, including Giannis Antetokounmpo and veteran sharpshooter Klay Thompson, to complement defensive anchor Bam Adebayo.

Head coach Erik Spoelstra is implementing a read-and-react continuity style offense designed to maximize the strengths of the new roster. This offensive approach focuses on creating gaps for Antetokounmpo to attack while utilizing the perimeter shooting of players like Thompson. The strategy marks a shift toward a more free-flowing system compared to previous play-calling methods.

Klay Thompson, a four-time NBA champion, emphasized the importance of team cohesion, noting that success depends on all 15 players working together rather than relying solely on the ‘super team’ label. The franchise aims to build on these additions to pursue its fourth Larry O’Brien Trophy.
