Miami Heat preseason schedule announced ahead of 2026-27 NBA season
The Miami Heat released a five‑game preseason slate that will run from October 3 to October 16, 2026. The opening match is set for a neutral‑site game in Quebec City, Canada, against the Toronto Raptors at 7:00 p.m. EST. The remaining opponents are the New Orleans Pelicans (Oct. 8), Minnesota Timberwolves (Oct. 10), Brooklyn Nets (Oct. 14) and Orlando Magic (Oct. 16). The Heat have three open roster spots and must trim the squad to 15 players before the regular season; the franchise remains under its $11 million hard cap with about $8 million of the mid‑level exception still available.
Alongside the schedule, the organization is weighing a possible signing of veteran forward Klay Thompson to add shooting and experience. The team also paid tribute to former point guard Goran Dragic, who announced his retirement, ending a career that helped the Heat reach the 2020 NBA Finals.
