Miami Hurricanes receive key defensive reinforcements for Florida State rivalry
The No. 3 Miami Hurricanes are receiving significant defensive reinforcements ahead of their upcoming rivalry game against Florida State. Head coach Mario Cristobal confirmed that defensive end Marquise Lightfoot and starting cornerback Xavier Lucas are “all the way back” following injuries earlier in the season.
In addition to Lightfoot and Lucas, Cristobal noted that linebacker Ezekiel Marcelin Jr. and cornerback Damari Brown are also healthy. The return of Lightfoot, who recorded five sacks through five games, and Lucas, a regular starter, provides a substantial boost to the Hurricanes' defensive unit.
Preparing for the matchup, Cristobal emphasized the unpredictability of modern college football and the danger of complacency. He cautioned his team against assuming victory, citing recent national upsets as evidence that any team has the talent to compete regardless of rankings.
