Collegiate volleyball: Ball State, Miami and Michigan secure victories

In recent collegiate volleyball action, several Mid-American Conference (MAC) and Big Ten matchups concluded with decisive results.

Ball State University secured a straight-set 3-0 victory over Central Michigan University (CMU) in Muncie, Indiana. Ava Smith led the Cardinals with 10 kills, while the team recorded 13 aces to secure the win. Central Michigan’s Taylor Cripe recorded a career ninth double-double with 12 kills and 14 digs despite the loss.

Miami University also defeated Central Michigan in a 3-0 sweep (25-21, 25-9, 25-17). Molly Creech paced the RedHawks with 13 kills, and Holland Van Deusen contributed three service aces.

In Big Ten play, the University of Michigan defeated the University of Iowa in four sets (25-17, 25-22, 23-25, 25-13) at the Crisler Center. Ksenija Tomic led the Hawkeyes with 12 kills in the loss.
