Miaoli County Council concludes session with focus on education and infrastructure

The 20th Miaoli County Council's 21st and 22nd extraordinary sessions concluded on August 14, addressing various local issues including transportation, water conservancy, indigenous affairs, and education.

Miaoli County Magistrate Chung Tung-chin emphasized that the county government will assist with all legitimate requests from council members regardless of political affiliation. Regarding infrastructure, Chung stated that the government aims to ensure safe roads for all residents, noting that for large-scale projects, the county will seek central government funding, while local offices should take responsibility for maintaining roads they construct.

On public health, the county is considering subsidies for the Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) vaccine for infants. Due to the high cost per dose, Chung plans to discuss cost-sharing models with township and city offices during upcoming symposiums.

In education, discussions focused on improving school environments and addressing student migration between schools. Chung noted that the county has been collaborating with high school principals to refine educational policies and ensure student rights and teaching environments are protected.
