Micaela Albornoz found alive in Florianópolis after 40‑day search
Micaela Gladys Albornoz, a 32‑year‑old woman from Rosario, Argentina, disappeared on 24 June 2023 after leaving her home in the Villa Manuelita neighbourhood. After more than a month of coordinated searches across several Argentine provinces, she turned herself in at the Argentine Consulate in Florianópolis, Brazil. Albornoz presented a neighbour’s Documento Nacional de Identidad, which had been flagged by Santa Fe’s Ministry of Justice and Security. Fingerprint analysis confirmed her identity. Authorities reported that she was in good health and under mental‑health treatment. The Santa Fe government had offered a reward of ARS 10 million, with an additional ARS 5 million from the Ministry of Security, and an Interpol yellow alert had been issued. Investigators traced her movements through bank transactions and security‑camera footage that showed travel through Córdoba, Santiago del Estero and other provinces before crossing the border. Consular officials are now coordinating her return to São Paulo.
