Micah Parsons claims highest pass rusher IQ amid Packers tenure

Green Bay Packers pass rusher Micah Parsons has claimed he possesses the highest football IQ among current NFL pass rushers. Speaking on NFL Network, Parsons stated, “I don’t really think it’s just about pass rushing, I think it’s about commanding the defensive front.” He noted his ability to dictate defensive slides and understand protections as key components of his game.

Parsons is currently recovering from a torn ACL suffered late in the 2025 season and is expected to miss several games at the start of the 2026 campaign, with a potential return targeted for a Week 6 matchup against his former team, the Dallas Cowboys. Following his trade from Dallas to Green Bay, Parsons signed a four-year, $186 million contract.

In response to the trade, Dallas Cowboys Executive Vice President Stephen Jones commented on the team's defensive leadership following the acquisition of Quinnen Williams. Jones suggested the trade finalized the “Parsons era” in Dallas, noting that the team has seen improvements in leadership through players like Williams, while implicitly critiquing the Packers' recent acquisitions.
