Micah Parsons manages personal loss and injury recovery

Green Bay Packers edge rusher Micah Parsons is navigating personal loss and injury recovery as the NFL season approaches. Parsons recently shared an emotional tribute on social media following the passing of his grandfather, a figure he credited with teaching him lessons on honesty and respect.

On the field, Parsons is recovering from reconstructive knee surgery, including ACL and meniscus repair, performed in late December. Currently on the reserve/physically unable to perform list, he is expected to miss at least the first four games of the season. However, there is optimism that he could return as early as Week 5 against the Chicago Bears or Week 6 for a high-profile reunion against his former team, the Dallas Cowboys.

Off the field, Parsons recently engaged in a competitive debate with rival Myles Garrett on his podcast, ‘The Edge,’ regarding who is the premier edge rusher in the league. The discussion touched on sack records and the physical versatility required for the position.
