Mical Damasceno becomes sole evangelical candidate for Maranhão

State Deputy Mical Damasceno (PRB) has emerged as the sole candidate representing the Assembleia de Deus denomination for a federal deputy seat in Maranhão. This shift follows the official withdrawal of Federal Deputy Pastor Gildenemyr (PL) from his reelection bid.

Pastor Gildenemyr's decision comes after a corruption conviction in Criminal Action No. 2670, which resulted in a sentence of 5 years and 6 months of imprisonment in a semi-open regime. Facing the risk of having his candidacy annulled, he opted to step down, joining fellow deputy Josimar Maranhãozinho in withdrawing from the race.
