Mișcarea Alternativă Națională reports 40+ amendments and 200 citizen hearings after first 2026 parliamentary session
Deputies of the Mișcarea Alternativă Națională (MAN) presented a bilanț of the first ordinary parliamentary session of 2026, highlighting more than 40 amendments and roughly 200 meetings with citizens across the country. Their legislative agenda included a draft law on the legal regime of ownerless vehicles, a proposal to aid families of Moldovan citizens who died abroad with repatriation support, and a motion to hold a consultative republican referendum on local public‑administration reform and the transfer of schools from local authority control to the Ministry of Education.
MAN officials said the initiatives have not progressed because the parliamentary majority, the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS), opposes them. The deputies also reported numerous interpellations, requests to state institutions, and diplomatic meetings with foreign ambassadors to discuss Moldova’s political and socio‑economic situation. An extraordinary parliamentary session is scheduled for 24 August to examine further legislative proposals.
