Micasa acquired by Swiss investors and announces store closures

Micasa AG, the former furniture subsidiary of Migros, has announced a change in ownership and the closure of four of its 30 branches. An unnamed Swiss investor group has acquired 100 percent of the company's shares. This new ownership replaces the previous consortium, which included CEO Philipp Agustoni, COO Manuel Landolt, and German and Austrian investor families Brandstetter-Finger and Wiest.

While the ownership has changed, the existing management team led by Agustoni and Landolt will continue to run the company's operations. The new investors are expected to provide fresh capital and expertise in logistics, digitalization, and technology to navigate current economic and market conditions.

The restructuring includes the closure of locations in Crissier (VD), Langendorf (SO), Brügg (BE), and Buchs (SG). The Crissier branch is scheduled to close by December 31, 2026, while the other three locations will close by January 31, 2027. Micasa stated that solutions for affected employees are being reviewed.
