MICE industry expands through new venues and major regional conferences

The Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) sector is seeing significant infrastructure and event developments in Southeast Asia.

In Thailand, the Thailand MICE X-Change (TMX) is scheduled for its fourth edition on April 29–30, 2027, at the IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Centre in Bangkok. Organized by the Thailand Exhibition Association (TEA), the event will focus on the theme “From Innovation to IMPACT: Shaping the Future of MICE,” highlighting digital innovation, artificial intelligence, and sustainability. The program includes the TMX X-Change Square conference, featuring over 20 sessions and 30 industry leaders.

In the Philippines, SM Hotels and Conventions Corporation (SMHCC) announced the opening of three new SMX Trade Halls in Luzon during the fourth quarter of 2026. Located in Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija; Santo Tomas, Batangas; and Santa Rosa, Laguna, these halls will add over 13,000 square meters of leasable exhibition space. This expansion aims to increase the capacity for trade shows and corporate events outside of Metro Manila, supporting the country's growing MICE potential.
