Michał G. sentenced to five years for fatal Kurowo crash

An 18‑year‑old driver, Michał G., was sentenced by the District Court in Wejherowo to five years in prison and a ten‑year driving ban for a deadly road accident that occurred on the night of 10‑11 November 2025 near Kurowo, Poland. The crash happened around 02:40 on a county road between Kurowo and Choczewko when G., who lacked a driving licence, was under the influence of alcohol (0.44 ‰) and lost control of his Volkswagen Passat, striking a tree. Two teenage passengers were killed at the scene.

The court found G. guilty of causing a fatal traffic accident while intoxicated and without a licence, also noting the vehicle had no valid technical inspection. In addition to the prison term, the court imposed a ten‑year prohibition on operating any motor vehicle and extended his pre‑trial detention for four more months. The verdict is not yet final and may be appealed.
