Michał Sopiński files criminal charges regarding Academy of Justice leadership dispute
Michał Sopiński, the rector of the Academy of Justice (Akademia Wymiaru Sprawiedliwości), has filed a notification with the prosecutor's office regarding the actions of Sławomir Cudak. Sopiński alleges that Cudak is engaging in criminal activities to cover up previous illegalities.
According to Sopiński, Cudak, who is currently acting as rector-commander, has taken several controversial steps. These include the disciplinary dismissal of Vice-Rector and Senate member Dr. Katarzyna Adamiak just one hour after she submitted her candidacy for the rector-commander position. Additionally, Sopiński reported that Zbigniew Nowacki, the senior senator authorized to act as his deputy, is being barred from Senate meetings.
The dispute follows an incident in September where Cudak attempted to take control of the academy using documents purportedly signed by Waldemar Żurek. While initial attempts were resisted by police, Cudak later gained access to the facility with the assistance of police and prison service officers.
