Michael Alfonso emphasizes manufacturing and anti‑communism in Wisconsin 7th District primary

Republican candidate Michael Alfonso toured Schuette Metals in Rothschild, Wisconsin, stressing that manufacturing is the backbone of the state’s 7th Congressional District and calling for streamlined federal permitting and support for President Trump’s tariff policy on Canadian paper and lumber.

Alfonso also warned that a rise in socialism and what he describes as “communism” threatens Wisconsin, citing his grandparents’ flight from Cuba after the Castro revolution. He targeted Democratic Socialists such as Francesca Hong, the governor’s race candidate, and urged voters to elect young, energetic conservatives to counter the ideology.
