Michael Ameyaw alleges discriminatory chanting by Raków Częstochowa fans
Michael Ameyaw, a professional footballer currently playing for Korona Kielce, has revealed allegations of discriminatory behavior by a segment of Raków Częstochowa supporters during his time with the club.
In an interview, the 26-year-old stated that a group of hardcore fans, specifically those in the ‘młyn’ (ultras section), practiced a “disgraceful custom” of refusing to chant the names of Black players before matches. Ameyaw noted that while the rest of the stadium would chant names normally, Black players were excluded from this practice. He indicated that this was not an isolated incident involving only himself, but also affected other Black players at the club.
Ameyaw clarified that he does not wish to generalize the entire fanbase, noting that he received support from one supporter who contacted his fiancée to explain that the behavior was limited to a specific group of people skeptical of him due to his skin color.
