Michael B. Jordan announces career hiatus and anime ambitions

Actor Michael B. Jordan has announced plans to take an extended hiatus from acting starting in 2027. Following a period of intense professional activity, Jordan intends to use the time for reflection and processing his recent career milestones.

In an interview with Vogue, Jordan revealed that he has several anime-related projects currently in the early stages of development. A longtime fan of the medium, he expressed a deep passion for the art form, stating, “I might just quit it all and make anime the rest of my life.” This interest has previously influenced his work, such as the fight choreography in Creed III.

Before his planned break, Jordan remains committed to several major upcoming projects. These include a remake of The Thomas Crown Affair, in which he will serve as actor, director, and producer; a Miami Vice reboot alongside Austin Butler; and the production of Delphi, a spin-off series within the Creed franchise. His recent professional success includes winning the Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance in Sinners.
