Michael B. Jordan to direct and star in ‘The Thomas Crown Affair’ remake

Michael B. Jordan is set to direct, produce, and star in a new interpretation of the heist thriller ‘The Thomas Crown Affair’ for Amazon MGM Studios. The film, which is scheduled for release on March 5, 2027, features a cast including Kenneth Branagh, Adria Arjona, Lily Gladstone, Danai Gurira, and Pilou Asbæk. The production includes an original score by Jon Batiste.

Jordan has discussed the weight of responsibility that comes with managing large budgets as a Black filmmaker. Speaking at CultureCon, he emphasized the importance of maintaining boundaries and providing positive representation for future generations. He noted that because there are few filmmakers in his position with access to such significant resources, he feels a duty to ensure his work serves as a meaningful example for those following in his footsteps.
