Missouri abortion amendment campaign receives $1.25 million from Michael Bloomberg
The campaign "Stop the Ban" has raised over $6.5 million to oppose Amendment 3, a Missouri ballot measure scheduled for the November election. The measure aims to restrict abortions to medical emergencies or pregnancies resulting from rape or incest within the first 12 weeks, while also codifying a ban on gender transition procedures for minors.
Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg contributed $1.25 million to the opposition campaign, according to reports filed with the Missouri Ethics Commission. This follows a $1 million donation Bloomberg made in 2024 to the campaign that successfully passed a previous amendment guaranteeing abortion rights in the state.
Other significant donors to "Stop the Ban" include the ACLU of Missouri, Planned Parenthood, and the Fairness Project. In contrast, the leading political action committee supporting Amendment 3, "Her Health, Her Future," has raised approximately $1 million. This pro-life PAC is supported by Governor Mike Kehoe and First Lady Claudia Kehoe.
