Michael Carrick defends Manchester United youngsters after Carabao Cup exit

Additionally, Carrick praised academy graduate Shea Lacey following his impressive senior debut. The 19-year-old scored a seventh-minute goal in the match and was described by Carrick as a “fantastic lad” who has worked tirelessly to earn his opportunity at the club.
