Michael Che responds to Shane Gillis' controversial SNL monologue

Saturday Night Live host Shane Gillis has faced backlash following a controversial monologue regarding women's gym attire. During his appearance on October 10, Gillis made comments describing women's workout clothing as looking like ‘whores’ and criticized the color and fit of neon shorts.

Michael Che, a regular host on ‘Weekend Update’, addressed the controversy during an interview on the Today Show. When asked about the pushback, Che stated, ‘That’s comedy. It’s like, you think it’s funny and some people don’t.’ He noted that he did not see the joke during the live broadcast as he was focused on his own cue cards and did not process the moment until the following day.

Che also expressed his anticipation of being questioned about the incident on social media while promoting his upcoming Netflix stand-up special, ‘Michael Che: Shot in Minnesota’.
