On July 30, a Chilean court held the formalisation hearing for the Caso Sartor, charging former Azul Azul president Michael Clark with six offences – disloyal administration, false information, incompatible negotiation, fraud, money laundering and another related crime. Prosecutors also requested preventive detention. Eleven individuals linked to Grupo Sartor were formalised on economic‑crime charges, and four of them received precautionary measures such as house arrest.

Clark’s 2024 purchase of Azul Azul shares remains under embargo and the price has not been paid, making it highly probable the contract will be voided. If the contract is nullified, several directors aligned with Clark could resign from the club’s board, jeopardising the governance of Universidad de Chile, which is operated by Azul Azul. The club announced the signing of midfielder Tobías Reinhart from Reggiana. Coach Fernando Gago said he will not comment on the scandal, focusing on sport matters.
