Michael Cole discusses WWE Money in the Bank and retirement plans
WWE announcer Michael Cole has commented on both the rising importance of the Money in the Bank event and his own future with the company. Cole noted that Money in the Bank is approaching the status of major annual events like the Royal Rumble and Survivor Series, though it remains behind WrestleMania and SummerSlam.
The upcoming Money in the Bank event is scheduled for October 10 at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans. The men’s ladder match will feature participants including CM Punk, Kevin Owens, and Bron Breakker, while the women’s match includes Tiffany Stratton and Roxanne Perez.
Regarding his career, Cole addressed speculation about retirement. Having been with WWE since 1997, the 59-year-old commentator stated he signed a multi-year contract and hopes to continue working until approximately age 65. He emphasized his desire to retire while still performing at a high level, stating he does not want to “wear out my welcome” or become a “shell of [himself].”
