Michael Desronvil faces scrutiny as holdout juror in Lindsay Clancy trial

Michael Desronvil, the lone holdout juror in the Lindsay Clancy mistrial, is facing legal and social scrutiny following the conclusion of the trial. Desronvil refused to join the other 11 jurors in reaching a verdict regarding whether Clancy was criminally responsible for the deaths of her three children.

Attorney Edward Paltzik stated that Desronvil endured “unimaginable” pressure during approximately 30 hours of deliberations, describing him as an “extraordinary man” who refused to abandon his interpretation of the law and evidence.

The case has escalated following a motion by defense attorney Kevin Reddington to review Desronvil’s cellphone records. The motion stems from allegations by other jurors that Desronvil used his device during deliberations. In response, Desronvil has claimed that several other jurors also used their cellphones and accessed social media while deliberations were ongoing.
