Michael Dorn reveals pressure behind Star Trek appearance record

Actor Michael Dorn, known for his role as Worf in the Star Trek franchise, revealed that his record for the most appearances in the series was achieved under pressure.

Speaking on the “Dropping Names” podcast alongside colleagues Jonathan Frakes and Brent Spiner, Dorn discussed a conflict with former producer Michael Piller. Following the conclusion of Star Trek: The Next Generation in 1994, the 41-year-old Dorn reportedly had little desire to continue playing the Klingon character. However, Piller contacted him to offer a role in Deep Space Nine, an offer that Dorn initially declined despite what he described as an implicit threat from the producer to secure his participation.
