Michael Dougherty returns to Trick ’r Treat with new graphic novel

Writer and director Michael Dougherty is returning to the Trick ’r Treat universe with the release of Trick ’r Treat: Witching Hours. Published by Legendary Comics, this graphic novel marks the franchise’s first new installment in over a decade.

Dougherty noted that it has been 11 years since the previous graphic novel, Days of the Dead, was published. The new collection features four stories that expand the lore of Sam, the holiday’s iconic enforcer, into new settings including space. The release is scheduled for October 13.
