Michael Douglas provides update on Jack Nicholson's status

Actor Michael Douglas has provided a rare update on the well-being of his longtime friend, Jack Nicholson. Speaking in Swansea, Wales, during a promotional event for his new memoir, “One Helluva Ride”, Douglas addressed speculation regarding the 89-year-old actor’s disappearance from public life.

Douglas confirmed that Nicholson is doing well but has effectively retired from acting. He noted that while Nicholson has not appeared in a feature film since 2010, they remain in contact. Douglas described Nicholson’s current lifestyle as quiet and relaxed, stating, “He is up there by his house and walking around in his slippers. He deserves it.”

The two actors share a professional history dating back to 1975, when Douglas produced the Oscar-winning film “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest”, which starred Nicholson. Despite their decades-long friendship, Douglas expressed regret that they never had the opportunity to act in a film together.
