Fishman supported the decision to cancel the show, a stance that led to a long-standing rift between the two.

In a social media response, Fishman stated he would not engage with the name-calling but clarified that he had reached out to Barr for clarity on the morning of her controversial tweets to show compassion. He noted that while he disagreed with her, he had previously kept his stance quiet for her protection, adding that her recent outburst provided a glimpse into the ‘darker side’ of his childhood experience working with her.
