Michael J. Fox says Parkinson's diagnosis was 'hell' for wife Tracy Pollan

In a recent interview, 65‑year‑old actor Michael J. Fox explained how his Parkinson’s disease has profoundly affected his wife Tracy Pollan, calling the public disclosure "hell" for her and saying the strain continues as the illness evolves.

Fox was diagnosed at age 29, kept the condition private for ten years, and publicly disclosed it in 1998 despite fearing it would end his career. He credits Pollan’s unwavering support for allowing him to keep acting, including a guest appearance in the series Shrinking and an upcoming voice role in the animated film Dragoons.

He also highlighted the Michael J. Fox Foundation, which since its 2000 launch has raised roughly $3 billion for Parkinson’s research, emphasizing that the effort improves individual lives beyond financial or scientific measures.
