Michael Jackson and AR Rahman planned collaboration for Rajinikanth film

Music composer S Thaman has revealed that a major musical collaboration between Michael Jackson and AR Rahman was planned for the Rajinikanth-led science fiction film Enthiran (also known as Robot).

According to Thaman, the two artists had already met and designed a song for the project. Reports indicate that Michael Jackson had signed an official deal for the collaboration in May 2009, but the project was halted following his death in June 2009. The film, directed by S. Shankar, was eventually released in 2010 with a soundtrack composed by AR Rahman.

Thaman also mentioned other international musical ambitions, including unsuccessful attempts to involve Britney Spears in a song for the film Game Changer.
