Jaafar Jackson Cast Opposite Will Smith in Amazon Thriller “Supermax”

Jaafar Jackson, the nephew of Michael Jackson who earned acclaim for portraying his uncle in the $1 billion‑grossing biopic “Michael,” has been added to the cast of the upcoming action‑thriller “Supermax.” The film is being produced by Amazon MGM Studios in partnership with Miramax and will be directed by David Gordon Green.

“Supermax” follows two FBI agents—played by Will Smith and AnnaSophia Robb—who investigate a murder inside the world’s most secure maximum‑security prison. Jackson’s role has not been disclosed but is described as pivotal to the plot. Production is slated to begin in August, with filming set for Sydney, Australia, and the movie will debut worldwide on Prime Video rather than in theaters.

The casting pairs the veteran star Will Smith, returning to the genre after his 2024 “Bad Boys: Ride or Die” outing, with the rising talent Jackson, whose breakout performance has positioned him as a notable new Hollywood lead.
