Michael Jackson biopic premiere draws fans and celebrities in Tokyo

On June 4, the Roppongi Hills Arena in Tokyo hosted the Japan premiere of the biographical film *Michael*, which chronicles the life of the late pop star Michael Jackson. The movie stars Jackson’s nephew Jaafar Jackson, with appearances on the red carpet by his brother Prince Jackson, actor Giuliano Valdi and other figures connected to the singer’s legacy. Japanese celebrities, including Shingo Katori and singer‑rapper Chanmina, joined the crowd, sparking enthusiastic cheers from assembled fans.

The event coincided with a broader celebration of Jackson in Japan, highlighted by the June 18 episode of the music program *Best Hit USA*, which featured an in‑depth look at Jackson’s “Thriller” era and promoted related merchandise and a limited‑time price‑off campaign for his catalog.
