Michael Jackson documentary series revisits Neverland abuse case

German broadcaster ZDF has launched a four‑part documentary series titled “Michael Jackson – Der Jahrhundertprozess”. The late‑night program re‑examines the 2005 child‑abuse trial of the late pop star, drawing on never‑before‑heard audio interviews recorded by Jackson in 2000‑2001. The series presents new insights into Jackson’s relationship with ten‑year‑old Gavin Arvizo, a seriously ill boy the singer described as “like an angel”, and explores the broader allegations of misconduct at the Neverland Ranch.

The episodes, each about 45 minutes long, combine archival footage with commentary from former friends, staff and legal observers. The documentary follows the 2026 biopic “Michael”, which was criticised for omitting the abuse allegations, and aims to provide a fuller picture of the controversies that shadowed Jackson’s career until his death in 2009.
