Michael Jackson estate disputes Paris Jackson’s $1.1 million legal fee request

The estate of Michael Jackson is in a legal dispute with Paris Jackson regarding her request for over $1.16 million in legal costs. Estate executor John Branca filed a court objection to the amount, arguing that Paris Jackson should only be compensated for legal battles she successfully won and work that directly benefited the estate’s beneficiaries.

While the estate acknowledged that Paris Jackson helped recover $625,000 in attorney bonuses, Branca contends the total requested amount is excessive. Simultaneously, the estate is seeking court permission to pay more than $9 million in legal fees to various lawyers and professionals for services rendered over the past six years. These services include tax planning, trademark management, and business deals.

Since Michael Jackson’s death in 2009, the estate has undergone a significant financial transformation. At the time of his passing, the singer reportedly faced more than $500 million in debt. The estate has since paid off those debts and claims its business interests have grown into a conglomerate valued at approximately $2 billion.
